Taste of Rhinebeck Culinary Crawl Raises $26K for Northern Dutchess Hospital

The 12th annual event features samples of food and beverages at 24 participating businesses.

As they dined their way through the Taste of Rhinebeck culinary crawl, attendees helped raise about $26,000 for Northern Dutchess Hospital.

The hospital’s foundation organized the 12th annual village event, which featured samples of food and beverages at 24 participating businesses. The rainy day of Tuesday, April 12 turned sunny just before the event started, and about 450 people turned out to enjoy the evening.

“A combination of great weather and an extraordinary effort by our generous culinary vendors – who donate everything – made this year’s Taste a huge success,” said Dawn Morrison, executive director of the hospital’s foundation.

Attendees and secret chefs voted for their favorite samples.

Chef's Choice winners were: main course of pork belly and Brussels sprouts from The Local; appetizer of Boti kebab from Cinnamon Indian Cuisine; dessert of coconut pudding from Aroi Thai Restaurant and beverage of Prosecco cocktail from Rhinebeck Wine & Liquor Store.

The People's Choice winners were: main course of pork belly and Brussels sprouts from The Local; appetizer of oyster po’ boy from Tavern at the Beekman Arms; dessert of buttermilk panna cotta from Market St. Restaurant and beverage of sake margarita from China Rose.

The Ira J. Gutner Hospitality Award was given to The Brookmeade Bakery.
