Olivia Yi, the assistant cider maker and daughter of owner Peter Yi, told Patch that the orchards does the pig roast every year to celebrate the opening of the season.
“We always like to celebrate events with food that goes with cider,” she said.
Yi said the roast event is always fun, and as the season opening, it has a lot of energy.
“It’s a very fun time to be open to the community,” she said.
Entry is free to the farm, and all food and beverages will be sold a la carte. The orchard’s wood-fired pizzas and burgers will also be available.
The Pig Roast will take place between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, April 1. There are two ticketed sessions: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through this link.

Live music from Simone Ayers will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Twin Star is home to Brooklyn Cider House, which makes ciders exclusively from their apples. Their natural hard ciders include Raw, Half Sour, Bone Dry, Kinda Dry, as well as the Three of Life, a complex naturally sparkling cider made from the first harvest of Twin Star Orchards’ baby cider apple trees that were planted eight years ago
Yi said she is working other events for later in the season, such as a fermentation festival.
The 210-acre orchards are family and dog-friendly. During the appropriate time of year, people can pick their own strawberries and apples.
“We obviously don’t have apples at the moment,” Yi said, “but we are looking forward to strawberry season.
“We have a really great strawberry season coming up,” she said.
Twin Star Orchards is located at 155 N. Ohioville Rd. in New Paltz.
