Victim ID'd In Deadly Harley, Pickup Truck Collision

Police say a Harley-Davidson was traveling east on Mount Hope Road, when it crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a Ford F350.

TOWN OF MOUNT HOPE, NY — The motorcyclist who died in a collision with a pickup truck, in Orange County, has been identified by state police.

New York State Police say that on Thursday, around 6:10 p.m., the Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Greenville responded to a motor vehicle collision on Mount Hope Road, near Tally Ho Road, in the Town of Mount Hope.

An initial investigation found that a 2006 Harley-Davidson, operated by 42-year-old Jason Weissenger, of Port Jervis, was traveling east on Mount Hope Road, when he crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a 2008 Ford F350 driven by a 36-year-old man from Otisville.

Weissenger was taken to Garnet Health Medical Center, in the town of Wallkill, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ford F350 driver was uninjured in the accident.

State police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police Middletown at 845-344-5300.
