Video Captures Dramatic Rescue Of Woman From Burning Vehicle In Chester: PD
The vehicle crashed on Kings Highway, according to police.

CHESTER, NY — A woman was rescued from her burning car after a rollover crash on Kings Highway early Sunday, according to police.
An officer’s body camera captured the dramatic rescue, and police released the footage on the department’s Facebook page.
The crash happened just after 4 a.m. on Sunday near Knapps View Park, according to police.
As emergency crews responded, they learned the driver was trapped inside the vehicle, which had caught fire, police said.
Officer Nicholas Contino, the first police officer to arrive, gave his fire extinguisher to a passing motorist, who used it on the blazing vehicle.
The body camera footage shows Contino rushing to locate the driver inside the vehicle, yelling “Where are you at?”
Contino broke the sunroof glass to get access to the woman, police said.
“With the assistance of two passing motorists and a paramedic from Empress EMS, she was removed from the vehicle and away from the fire,” police said.
The driver was identified as a 68-year-old woman from Warwick, according to police. Police did not release the woman’s name.
The motorist suffered burns to about a third of her body, and she was rushed to Westchester Medical Center’s Burn Unit, where she was listed in stable condition.
