Westchester Medical Center Network Incorporates Kingston Hospitals

Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals have officially been consolidated into the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

Keys to the former Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals in Kingston were officially handed over to Westchester Medical Center Health Network at a ceremony on March 29, according to the Kingston Freeman.

The consolidation is intended to resolve uncertainty over the availability of local health services and will eventually merge the services offered by the former Kingston and Benedictine hospitals creating a single campus. An $88.8 million plan proposes turning the former Kingston Hospital, now the Health Alliance Broadway campus, into a professional services building and would add 50 beds to the former Benedictine hospital, now known as Mary’s Avenue campus.

According to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal, the renovation at St. Mary’s campus is expected to improve surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic services at the hospital.
