Woman Who Was Repeatedly Stabbed, Identified Her Attacker: Police

The 30-year-old woman was able to tell Town of Warwick police the address where the 24-year-old suspect could be found.

TOWN OF WARWICK, NY — A stabbing victim was able to identify and lead investigators to her attacker, according to Warwick police.

The Town of Warwick Police Department says that on June 19, around 9:18 p.m., officers responded to a report about an assault on Helene Road.

Once on the scene, police found a 30-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. They administered first aid to the woman who was able to identify her attacker and give police a nearby address, according to police. The woman was taken to Garnett Health Medical Center in Middletown with serious, by non-life-threatening injuries.

Police then contacted the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Emerly Hernandez, of Helene Road. She was arrested and taken to the Town of Warwick Police Department for processing.

Hernandez was charged with felony first-degree assault, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
