The Wonderland Of Lights Ready To Light Up The Fairgrounds For A Worthy Cause

RHINEBECK, NY — Even before the Thanksgiving dishes are done, we will have the chance to get in the holiday spirit and support a good cause at the same time.

The Wonderland of Lights announced that they will be donating a portion of their proceeds from their opening night on Friday, to assist American Legion Post 429 as they work to recover from a devastating fire that severely damaged their historic veteran's hall in September. Organizers say that 50 percent of all cash sales made at the gate that night will be given to Post 429.

The family-friendly drive-through experience features "festive lighted displays from the whimsically wonderful to the nostalgic and traditional with thousands of dancing lights accompanied by favorite holiday songs." This will be the fifth consecutive season that the event will be held in Rhinebeck.

"We encourage people to come to our opening night to not only enjoy our holiday event, but also to help our neighbors in need," Tammy Peters, President of North Pole Productions, producer of The Wonderland of Lights, said. "We're proud to have been part of the Hudson Valley community for five years now and we want to do what we can to assist American Legion Post 429 and the veterans they serve."
