NYPD Officer Wilbert Mora's Funeral Set For Wednesday
Wednesday's funeral for slain Officer Wilbert Mora will close streets around St. Patrick's Cathedral. Here's what to know.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — For the second time in less than a week, thousands of mourners and law enforcement will flood the streets around St. Patrick's Cathedral to pay tribute to a fallen officer.
Wilbert Mora, 27, will be memorialized Wednesday at the Midtown cathedral, nearly two weeks after he was shot in a Harlem apartment along with fellow officer Jason Rivera. Rivera died that night, Jan. 21, while Mora succumbed to his wounds four days later.
As with Rivera's funeral last week, Mora's is expected to be a major affair, starting at 10 a.m. at the Fifth Avenue cathedral between 50th and 51st streets.

Traffic will be blocked on Fifth Avenue between 43rd and 57th streets starting at 6 a.m., expanding down to 34th Street by 9 a.m., the NYPD advised. Residents should also expect crowds and emergency personnel in the area, according to a city alert.
Tuesday morning, Mora's body was brought from Riverdale Funeral Home in Inwood down to St. Patrick's, where a viewing was held starting at 1 p.m.

An East Harlem resident, Mora was born in the Dominican Republic before moving to the U.S. at a young age with his family, according to Newsday.
"He took a lot of pride in being a police officer, especially being a young Hispanic man," longtime friend Rashad Mujumder told Newsday. "He wanted to be someone people could look up to."
