Body Pulled From Hudson River Near Midtown Pier, Police Say
A man's body was recovered from the waters near Pier 99 early Tuesday morning.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered from the Hudson River on Tuesday, an NYPD spokesman said.
Officers with the NYPD's Emergency Services Unit recovered the body near West 59 Street in the waters surrounding Pier 99 shortly after 6 a.m. and brought the man ashore, police said. Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene, an NYPD spokesman said.
Pier 99 is a marine transfer facility operated by the city Department of Sanitation and is not accessible to the public.

City medical examiners will conduct an autopsy to discover the man's official cause of death. Police did not identify the victim.
