New Grocery Store Opens On The Upper East Side

The new market features a coffee bar and a wide selection of everyday essentials, as well as specialty items.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Dumbo Market, a small Brooklyn-based grocery store chain, has officially made its debut on the Upper East Side, the company said on Instagram Friday afternoon.

The new grocery store, located at 1223 Second Ave. near 64th Street, is the brand’s first foray into Manhattan, opening just in time for the holiday rush.

Dumbo Market already operates three other stores — two in Brooklyn and one in Queens.

The Upper East Side market takes over the space once occupied by a sprawling CVS, which closed in 2023.

The shuttered pharmacy became one of several so-called "zombie" stores in the neighborhood last year, Patch previously reported.
