Bomb Squad Called to Israeli Consulate for Suspicious Package Outside, Witnesses Say
The NYPD said Thursday evening it was an "ongoing investigation."
A bomb squad was called in outside the Israeli Consulate in Midtown East on Thursday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package, witnesses said.
There was an "ongoing investigation" Thursday evening outside the consulate at East 42nd Street and Second Avenue, according to NYPD. FDNY said Thursday one of its trucks was by the investigation on standby.

Update: J. Peter Donald, spokesperson for NYPD, tweeted all was clear outside the consulate at around 6:30 p.m.
