Scaffolding Hit By Truck On 9th Ave, FDNY Says
The area around West 33rd St was shut down.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A Midtown Manhattan street was shut down as a precaution Monday morning after a box truck struck a piece of scaffolding, an FDNY spokesman said.
The truck drove into the scaffolding on West 33rd Street and Ninth Avenue shortly before 10 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Two of the scaffolding's upright posts were displaced due to the impact of the truck, a city Department of Buildings spokeswoman said.
The sidewalk on West 33rd Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues was closed to pedestrians while workers restored structural stability to the scaffolding, a Department of Buildings spokeswoman said. The company responsible for the scaffolding, Elite Scaffold and Hoist LLC, worked to secure the damaged scaffolding.
