Cause Of Smoking Midtown Manholes Unknown: Report

MIDTOWN, NY — No injuries or outages were reported Thursday after smoke was seen coming from manholes in Midtown.

CBS New York reports the smoke was seen in the area of 55th street and Sixth Avenue. New York's fire department blocked off the area to traffic after the smoke was reported.

The street was later reopened, according to the report. The cause of the smoke is unclear.
