Commuter Has Head Trauma After Attack In Midtown Subway, Police Say
Medics rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in critical condition after the attack.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man has been arrested and charged after an assault inside a subway station in Times Square left a commuter in critical condition, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, on July 16 at 5:43 p.m., a 51-year-old man was attacked on the mezzanine of the N/Q/R train at the subway station at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.
When police arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled, and the victim was found on the floor with severe trauma to his head and face, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in critical condition, where he was put on life support, police said. According to Pix11, the man had internal brain bleeding and a possible skull fracture.
On July 17 at 9:10 p.m., a 47-year-old man from New Jersey named Cerrone Clarke was arrested on the Upper West Side, where he was behaving erratically at a subway station, NYPD officials said.

Police officers took him into custody after recognizing the man from the attack, and have since charged him with assault.
As of Friday morning, the victim's condition has improved, and he is now listed in stable condition, police said.
