Commuters Slept In Grand Central During Storm, Report Says
Commuters turned Grand Central station into a hotel after Metro North Railroad suspended service during Wednesday's storm.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Commuters stranded in Grand Central Terminal due to Wednesday's winter storm turned the iconic station into a free hotel, according to reports.
Several Metro North Railroad passengers found themselves in the unenviable positions of having no way home and no money for a hotel on Wednesday night, the New York Post reported. The commuters had ventured into the city during mild Wednesday morning conditions, but had no ride home after Metro North suspended service on its Harlem, New Haven and Hudson lines, the Post reported.
"I’m stuck here and I’m not very happy," Christina Ramos of New Haven, Connecticut, told the Post. "It’s not like you can just book a last minute hotel in New York City because they’re overpriced, so I’m stuck sleeping on the floor."

Effects of Wednesday's storm lingered into Thursday morning. The Metro North Railroad resumed train service out of Grand Central, but on a reduced schedule. Customers should expect "crowded conditions and delays due to the residual effects of the storm."
