Crooks Steal Backpack From Midtown MTA Booth: Police

The thieves later used a credit card in the stolen backpack, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — Three crooks stole a backpack from an empty MTA booth in a Midtown subway station, later using a credit card from the victim just down the street, police said.

On Nov. 20 at about 12:30 p.m., three people entered an empty MTA booth inside the West 50 Street-Broadway subway station and stole a North Face backpack found inside, according to officials.

A credit card inside of the stolen backpack was later used just a few blocks away, police said, and the crooks then fled in an unknown direction.

Police released images of people believed to be connected to the incident and said that at least two of the people appeared to be teens.
