Midtown Subway Ninja Nabbed With Sword, Nunchucks, Hachet: NYPD

A man carrying a duffel bag seemingly overflowing with blades was arrested inside a 42nd Street subway station Tuesday, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A Ninja Turtle wannabe toting a duffle bag overflowing with weapons was cuffed in a Midtown subway station on Independence Day, police said.

Glenn Jones, 49, was carrying a sword, nunchucks, a ninja star and a hatchet when cops nabbed him in the Port Authority subway station at West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue about 12:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Officers caught up with Jones after spotting his duffel bag with a long sword attached to the side, said police.

Intrigued, officers asked for more information and discovered a grab bag of weaponry that also included at least six knives and a pellet gun, the NYPD said.

The upstate New York man was arrested without incident and charged with 13 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.
