Elderly Woman Brutally Robbed, Beaten In Midtown Elevator: NYPD
Police said the woman was thrown to the ground and kicked by a crook in a midday robbery on Friday.

MIDTOWN, NY — An elderly woman was brutally beaten and robbed inside an elevator on a ritzy, Midtown block on Friday, according to police.
At about 1 p.m., a 74-year-old woman was inside an elevator at a building on the corner of Madison Avenue between East 57th and 58th streets when a man entered the elevator and tried to rob her, police said.
As the woman tried to resist the crook's attempt, he decided to brutally throw the woman to the ground, police said.

The man then kicked her as she lay on the ground and ran off with her purse, police said.
Officials released a photo of a person they say is connected to the robbery and described the man as about five foot 10 inches tall and with a heavy build.
