TIMES SQUARE, NY — A glass window pane at a Times Square hotel shattered on Monday afternoon, sending shards of glass onto 41st Street from the 15th floor of the building, a fire department spokesman said.

A window on the 15th floor of the Hilton Times Square broke at about 4:45 p.m., authorities said. Firefighters were still on scene removing the glass and inspecting the building at 5:15 p.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch. No injuries were immediately reported. The glass fell from the 15th floor of the hotel, located 234 W 42st St. The fire department spokesman said the glass fell from a window on the south side of the hotel, near 242 W 41st St. It is unknown what caused the window pane to shatter.

Patch was not immediately able to contact a Hilton representative for comment. A city Department of Buildings spokesman did not immediately reply to an email from Patch seeking more information.
