'Kobe Bryant Park' Subway Sign Pays Tribute To NBA Star
New Yorkers honored Kobe Bryant by altering a sign in the Bryant Park subway station after his death in a helicopter crash.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — New Yorkers paid tribute to NBA star Kobe Bryant — who died Sunday with his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California — by modifying a sign in the Byrant Park subway station to read "Kobe Bryant Park" according to reports and photos shared on social media.
An image of the modified subway sign was shared on social media Monday morning by an editor at CNN Business. The tribute at the 42nd St-Bryant Park Station was likely created on Sunday, according to a New York Post report.

Tributes to Bryant have been popping up around the country since news broke of his death. The New York Knicks honored the NBA great at Madison Square Garden during the team's Sunday night game against the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks held a moment of silence before the game and both teams took 24-second shot clock violations during the game, a nod to Bryant's jersey number 24. A tribute to Bryant was also shown on screens outside Madison Square Garden, which was lighted up with the purple and gold of the Los Angeles Lakers.
