Man Assaulted On Subway Early Saturday Morning: Police

A man was punched in the face on the A train early Saturday morning, police said. It's not clear what led to the assault.

MIDTOWN, NY – At about 4:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, a 41-year-old man was riding a southbound A train near Columbus Circle, according to officials.

Another man approached him, the victim told police, and punched him in the face with a closed fist, causing a laceration to his face.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

The assailant was described as a white male, officials said.
