Man Attacked With Belt At Port Authority Station, Police Say
An 18-year-old from Hempstead is facing charges for the assault of a 71-year-old man at the transit hub.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An 18-year-old is facing charges for attacking an elderly man at the Port Authority subway station, police said.
Bryan Robberson, of Hempstead, struck a 71-year-old man in the head with a belt buckle after getting into an argument with the man inside a passageway at the 42nd Street Port Authority subway station on Monday afternoon, police said. Robberson was arrested Tesday and charged with two counts of assault, police said.
After striking the man with his belt, Robberson allegedly continued the attack by punching and kicking the 71-year-old until he fell to the ground, police said. Medics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Robberson ran from the Port Authority station with two other unknown men, police said. The other men have not been arrested in connection with the assault, police said.
Police did not say what set off the argument between Robberson and the victim.
