Man Attacked During Robbery In Hell's Kitchen Apartment: Police

A man was inside his apartment when he was attacked after refusing to give another person money.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of attacking a person inside their Hell's Kitchen apartment during a violent robbery, police said.

A 30-year-old man was inside his apartment near 49th Street and Ninth Ave when he was approached by an unknown man on Wednesday night. The man asked the resident for money, and attacked him when the resident declined, police said.

The unknown man punched the resident in the face and stole his cellphone before fleeing the building, police said. EMS treated the victim at the scene of the attack for lacerations to his hand and nose.
