Baton-Wielding Straphanger Attacks In Grand Central Subway: NYPD
A 63-year-old man was hit on the head after arguing with another man in the subway station beneath Grand Central, police said Thursday.

MIDTOWN, NY — A baton-wielding straphanger hit another man in the head inside the Grand Central subway station Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The 63-year-old man was attacked after arguing with his attacker underneath East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue about 1 p.m., officials said.
The 63-year-old tried to walk away from the argument toward stairs on the mezzanine, but the violent straphanger swung his collapsable baton, hit him in the head and ran away, according to police.

Medics rushed the wounded man, who was in stable condition, to NYU Langone Hospital, police said.
