Man Hit, Killed By Bus In Midtown, Police Say
A man was hit by a bus while crossing Fifth Avenue and 59th Street in Midtown.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man was fatally struck by a coach bus that fled the scene of the collision in Midtown Manhattan, police said.
The 51-year-old man, who has not been identified, was crossing the street at Fifth Avenue and 59th Street when we was struck by a bus heading south down the avenue, police said. EMS rushed the man to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.
An NYPD spokesman could not confirm that the man died of his injuries, but articles in the New York Post and Daily News citing police sources report that the man has died.

The coach bus did not stop following the collision, an NYPD spokesman said. The police department's investigation of the hit-and-run is ongoing and no arrests have been made, police said.
Three pedestrians were killed and another was critically injured in traffic collisions Tuesday. A 10-year-old boy was killed and his 40-year-old mother was critically injured after being hit by a city Department of Sanitation truck backing out of Queens driveway. In the afternoon, a 68-year-old woman was fatally struck by a truck on Brooklyn's New Utrecht Avenue.
