Brutal Midtown Purse Snatching Sends Woman To Hospital: NYPD

The mugger dragged the woman on the ground then fled with her bag, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — Police are still looking for a brutal purse-snatcher who dragged a woman to the ground and sent her to the hospital in April, officials said.

The mystery man targeted the woman, 59, on West 55th Street on April 8 about 7:30 p.m., officials said.

The grabbed the purse with enough force to drag the woman to the ground, leaving her with minor injuries, police said.

The man ran east with the purse, which contained about $200, and the woman was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital.

Police released photos of a man they think is connected to the theft, adding that he is believed to be about 5 feet 9 inches tall.
