Man Stabbed In Midtown West Early Tuesday Evening: Police

A 31-year-old man was stabbed on 8th Avenue on Tuesday evening. He's expected to survive, authorities said.

MIDTOWN, NY – A 31-year-old man was walking on 8th Avenue near West 45th Street at about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday when an unknown assailant wearing a face mask stabbed him in the lower back, police said.

The stabbing, which occurred near 713 8th Avenue, caused “a deep wound,” according to officials, but the victim is expected to survive. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, police said, where he is conscious and alert.

The victim is “highly uncooperative,” a police spokesperson told Patch, meaning few other details are available at this time.
