Massive Retail Space Opens In Empire State Building, Report Says
The iconic Midtown skyscraper will seek tenants for about 50,000 square feet of retail space.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Even Manhattan's most famous buildings can struggle finding retail tenants. The Empire State Building is gearing up to launch a marketing campaign to fill 50,000 square feet of commercial space inside the building, according to reports.
The Midtown skyscraper's huge amount of open retail space is located on the building's ground floor, concourse and second floor, Crain's New York reported. The Fifth Avenue building has likely never had this much open space, one real estate expert told Crain's.
But the space might not be open too long.

An executive at Cushman & Wakefield — the brokerage firm hired to market the space — told Crain's that space inside the Empire State Building will be in high demand.
"Tenants that are in the market looking for a location with high density along a shopping corridor, I would think they would make this one of their priorities," Cushman & Wakefield's Joanne Podell told Crain's.
