Midtown Uyghur Spot Is A Best Cheap Eat: List
Tengri Tagh, on West 37th Street, made a new list as one of the best affordable eats in the city.

MIDTOWN, NY — It might not look it from the outside, but there's a whole sit-down restaurant past Uyghur spot Tengri Tagh's tiny store front on an otherwise quiet block filled with wholesalers and quick lunch bites.
And on top of that, says Eater NY, the food is a best cheap eat.
Tengri Tagh was just added to a new edition of Eater NY's list of "40 Inexpensive Dining Destinations," which the foodie site says lists some of the city's best deals when it comes to good eats.

The site describes it as "a full-blown, sit-down Uyghur restaurant only a dumpling’s throw from Macy’s in Midtown" that has "all the Uyghur classics," including "steaming plates of dumplings, a wide variety of noodles, a plethora of lamb, and the classic big tray chicken (da pan ji), a spicy stew of chicken and potatoes served with wide noodles."
The restaurant, which opened two years ago, also recently opened a second spot near Forest Hills Stadium.

"Tengri Tagh exemplifies hospitality," the New York Times wrote of the new location.
"A nonnegotiable order is the handmade noodles with Uyghur stir-fried lamb, featuring pleasantly chewy lagman noodles surrounded by thinly sliced halal lamb, tomatoes, green peppers and cloud ear mushrooms in a sauce that is spicy enough to awaken the senses without overwhelming them," reports the Times, concluding that "it's worth visiting whether you have concert tickets or not."
Luckily, you can also visit the original location at 144 West 37th St, near Seventh Avenue anytime.
