MTA Bus Strikes A Crane, Killing The Man On It: NYPD
The man sustained severe head and body trauma, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man was killed on Sunday night in Midtown when an MTA bus crashed into a crane that was protruding into the street, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, Vladamir Cruz, 39, was on a boom lift near 5th Avenue and East 51st Street at 9:30 p.m. when the bus crashed into the arm of the lift, causing Cruz to fall off of it.
Cruz, who is from the Bronx, sustained severe head and body trauma from the fall and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue where he was pronounced dead, NYPD officials said.

The 44-year-old operator of the bus stayed on the scene, police said, and no arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
