New Hell's Kitchen Restaurant Brings Live Jazz To Neighborhood

The Sound Bite opened last month on Ninth Avenue and West 50th Street.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A new restaurant in Hell's Kitchen is bringing a heavy dose of jazz to the neighborhood.

The Sound Bite, which opened on Ninth Avenue and West 50th Street last month, recently announced that it will begin hosting a weekly "jazz brunch" every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The brunch will supplement the venue's live jazz performances and jam sessions on Friday and Saturday nights, the businesses owners said.

The new business was opened by former news anchor Julian Phillips and his wife jazz vocalist Barbara King. The Sound Bite combines the love of both owners by featuring live music as well as relics from the news industry such as autographed headshots of Phillips' former colleagues.
