NJ Man Killed By Midtown Train: MTA

The 36-year-old New Jersey resident was killed after being hit by an LIRR train late Friday night, officials said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A man was struck and killed by a train inside Penn Station late Friday night, according to officials.

At about 11:30 p.m., a 36-year-old man was hit by a departing Long Island Rail Road train on Track 17 inside the Midtown transit hub, according to the MTA Police.

First responders rushed to his aid, but the man was declared dead at the scene, officials said.

The MTA Police identified the victim as Keith Harvey, a resident of Belle Meade, NJ, adding that he had come from a holiday party and was seeking to use New Jersey Transit to return home.

According to a GoFundMe, Harvey is survived by his wife and their two sons.

Officials said that the incident is being investigated as accidental, with no criminality suspected.
