One Injured In Slashing On 6 Train Tuesday: Police

A 52-year-old man was slashed in the face on an uptown 6 train on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

MIDTOWN, NY – At about 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, a 52-year-old man was riding a northbound 6 train near the Lexington Avenue/51st Street E/M/6 train station, when an unidentified woman approached him and started an argument, police said.

During the argument, the unidentified woman displayed a knife and slashed the man in the face, according to authorities.

It appears the two were strangers, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The victim was treated by emergency responders at the scene, officials said.

Police described the assailant as a black woman in her early 20s, heavyset, wearing a multicolored backpack and a blue shirt.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
