Pedestrian Killed By MTA Bus In Manhattan, Police Say

The victim was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue after the crash.

KIPS BAY, NY — A pedestrian was hit by an MTA bus and killed early Monday morning in Manhattan, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the pedestrian was crossing on East 28th Street near Third Avenue when an MTA bus driving northbound on Third Avenue struck the pedestrian at 5:33 a.m. Monday.

The 41-year-old driver stayed on the scene, and the pedestrian was rushed to a NYC Health + Hospitals/ Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The identity of the victim is not yet known, police said.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is underway, police said.
