Pedicab Driver Killed When Hit, Run Over By Car In Manhattan
Ibrokhum Azizov of Brooklyn had three passengers on board when he was hit Friday night near 42nd Street and Madison Avenue.
NEW YORK, NY — A New York City pedicab driver was struck and killed while on the job near 42nd Street and Madison Avenue Friday night.
A 2017 Toyota Tacoma struck the pedicab around 11:14 p.m. and took off southbound on Madison, the New York City Police Department said in a news release over the weekend. The driver, 24-year-old Ibrokhim Azizov, of Brooklyn, was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals-Bellevue, where he died.
Three pedicab passengers, a 46-year-old woman and two 14-year-old girls, were also taken to Bellevue with minor injuries, police said.

The pedicab was eastbound on 42nd when it was hit from behind by the Toyota, according to police. Azizov was ejected from his seat and fell onto the street before the Toyota ran him over, police said. He was unconscious when they found him.
The car that struck the pedicab was found less than a mile away in the 200 block of 32nd Street. No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning.
