Penn Station Delays: Amtrak Train Disabled In Tunnel
Trains in and out of Penn Station were delayed Tuesday morning after an Amtrak train became disabled east of Midtown Manhattan.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The short workweek is getting off to a rocky start for some commuters, as trains were experiencing up to half-hour delays in and out of Penn Station Tuesday morning, officials announced.
An Amtrak Northeast Regional train had to stop in the Hudson River tunnel east of Penn Station when debris became stuck to the bottom of a train car, an Amtrak spokesman said. The debris caused a "smoke issue" on the tracks, but did not catch fire, the spokesman said. An Amtrak Acela Express train also had to stop while the Northeast Regional train was stopped.
The trains are no longer stuck in the tunnel, but Amtrak trains are delayed in and out of Penn Station Tuesday morning.
