Penn Station Delays: NJ Transit, LIRR Trains Stalled
NJ Transit and Long Island Rail Road riders were stuck in Penn Station during the Friday evening commute.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — NJ Transit and Long Island Rail Road commuters were stranded in Penn Station during the Friday evening commute as they attempted to leave the city in the middle of a storm.
Trains heading into and out of Penn Station were delayed up to an hour starting shortly before 4 p.m., New Jersey Transit officials announced. The delays were caused due to an "overhead wire problem" near Secaucus Junction, officials announced. It's unclear whether the nor'easter that hit the East Coast is responsible for the problems.
Service on several Long Island Rail Road lines was suspended or delayed due to a fallen utility poles across the tracks near Westbury and west of Malverne Station, officials said. The poles fell as a result of the nor'easter, according to the Long Island Rail Road. Crews are on scene at both fallen poles and working to restore service, officials said.
