MIDTOWN, NY — An experienced chef from one of the city's top steakhouses is crossing the East River to sizzle up Midtown at a new East 48th Street spot, according to reports.

Bulmaro Rouge, a grill chef who spent years cooking at Peter Luger Steak House in Williamsburg, is now heading the kitchen at Benny John’s Bar & Grill, according to the New York Times.

The new steakhouse at 8 East 48th St. between Fifth and Madison Avenues is a venture by Dennis and Ben Lekic, members of a family with a long tradition in the city's steakhouse tradition — their father owns Tudor City Steakhouse — and this will be their first eatery on their own, reports Social Life Magazine.
