Straphanger Attacked, Robbed On Uptown-Bound Subway, Police Say
The robbers stole the victim's phone and then punched him in the face while aboard an uptown 5 train, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — Police are looking for suspects after a 47-year-old man was violently robbed on an uptown 5 train, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the victim was on a 5 train approaching Grand Central-42nd Street station on Friday at 12:27 p.m. when a man started a verbal dispute with him.
Then, a woman took the victim's cellphone while she was exiting the train, police said.

When the victim tried to retrieve his phone, the man punched him in the face, and both perpetrators ran away, police said. The phone was approximately $1,000, police said.
The victim was treated on the scene by medics for minor injuries, police said.

Police released surveillance photos of the two suspects, both estimated to be around 25 years old, police said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
