Subway Hits Man In Midtown Station, Police Say

MIDTOWN, NY — A man was struck by a train on the northbound track at the Fifth Avenue-53rd Street station on Wednesday afternoon, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was struck by a train at 12:25 p.m. on the northbound track, which serves the E train and the M train.

Medics and emergency responders from the New York City Fire Department rushed to the scene to aid the man.

The power at the subway station was shut off at 12:41 p.m., police said.

Police were not yet able to share the condition of the man or what led up to the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet, police said. Northbound E and M trains were delayed and rerouted, according to the MTA.
