Target To Open New Store In Times Square
The store will be Target's 10th small format location to open in New York City.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Retail giant Target will open a new store in Times Square, continuing its expansion blitz in New York City, company officials announced Thursday.
Target secured a lease with Tishman for a 33,000-square-foot space on West 42nd St between Seventh and Eighth avenue. The store will be Target's tenth small format location in the city, company officials said.
The new store is expected to open in 2022, Target officials said.

Target opened its first Midtown location in October 2017. In recent years stores have opened on the Upper East Side, East Village and Tribeca with planned openings in Columbus Circle and in the outer boroughs.
Target plans to open 130 "small format" stores nationwide by the end of 2019. The urban-focused stores differ from larger Target department stores by offering a selection of items curated to meet the needs of its local area.
