Taxi Driver Mugged In Midtown, Police Say
A taxi was stopped at a red light in Midtown when three men approached the vehicle and robbed the driver.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify three men who mugged a taxi driver in Midtown Manhattan, police said.
A 28-year-old taxi driver was stopped at a red light near West 39th Street and 5th Avenue on the night of Jan. 6 when three unidentified men approached his vehicle, police said. The men opened the car door and snatched about $600 in cash from the driver, police said.
When the driver exited the car to confront the robbers, one of them punched him in the face, police said. The three men fled the scene after the punch.

The cab driver suffered a bloody nose, but refused medical attention at the scene of the crime, police said.
Surveillance photos (seen above) of the three suspects were released by police Sunday.
