Track Fire At East Side Subway Station Disrupts Commutes, MTA Says

The FDNY put out a track fire at the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station, the MTA said.

MIDTOWN EAST, NY — Multiple subway lines faced delays and service changes Thursday afternoon ahead of the evening commute after the FDNY put out a track fire at the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station, the MTA said around 3:10 p.m. Thursday.

According to the MTA's real-time train tracker, the N, R, W, and M trains all were experiencing disruptions between Manhattan and Queens Thursday.

Downtown R trains were rerouted onto the F line between 36th Street and Lexington Avenue/59 Street and onto the Q line to 57th Street–7th Avenue.

Uptown R trains followed a similar detour, using the Q line to 57th St–7th Av and the F line back to 36th Street.
