MIDTOWN, NY — A trio of bandits spent much of May targeting delivery workers and robbing them of their hard-earned cash, police said.

Three individuals are believed to be connected to just as many early-morning muggings in Midtown, Chelsea and Greenwich Village, officials said early Thursday.

The first incident happened on May 12, near Sixth Avenue and 14th Street just before 5 a.m., when two men approached a 51-year-old making a delivery, police said, and pulled out a gun.

After striking the delivery worker several times, the two men made off with the 51-year-old's cell phone and over $1,100 in cash, according to officials, before fleeing east on 14th Street in a gray Honda CRV. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

Just the next day at 5:15 a.m. near West 18th Street and 10th Avenue, three men pulled out a gun on a 73-year-old delivery worker who was in the back of his truck, police said.

The thieves again hit the man several times and made off with his wallet, and $70o, officials said. The man suffered minor injuries and was brought to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition while the thieves drove westbound in the same gray Honda CRV, police said.

After a brief respite, the trio was at it again on May 23, when they found a 69-year-old man making a delivery in Midtown on West 46 Street near Eighth Avenue at about 5:20 a.m., officials said.

Police couldn't say if a gun was displayed in this robbery, but said the crooks did hit the 69-year-old several times before taking the man's wallet and $90 before fleeing East on West 46th Street in a red Acura TLX sedan.

Officials released images of the red Acura as well as surveillance stills of three people believed to be connected to the robberies.
