Victim Shoved Onto Subway Tracks In Midtown, Police Say

The perpetrator left the station and then ran away in an unknown direction, police said.

MIDTOWN, NY — Police are looking for the perpetrator that randomly shoved a man onto the train tracks at a subway station in Midtown, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim, a 44-year-old man, was standing on the downtown-bound platform of the 1 train at 50th Street and Broadway when an unknown man pushed him from behind onto the tracks at 7:48 p.m. on Saturday.

Then, the suspect left the station and then ran away in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim, who sustained injuries to his face, was able to climb back onto the platform and get help before the next train came, officials said. Medics took the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition, officials said.

Police said the investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made yet. Police are still searching for the suspect, who they say was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a tan baseball cap.
