Water Service Shut Down Wednesday Night 28th-31st Streets, Ninth and Tenth Avenues

Water service will be shut down midnight to 4 a.m. Wednesday night to facilitate a water main project.

Water service will be interrupted on Wednesday, July 6 from midnight to 4 a.m. for those who live on Tenth Avenue between 25th and 29th streets, and West 28th Street between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, according to a statement from the Department of Design and Construction.

The water is being turned off for a construction project to install water mains on West 29th to West 31st streets between Ninth and Tenth avenues, and Ninth and Tenth avenues between 28th and 31st streets.

The DDC advised to turn off the main valve in the house or building when it's time to shut off the water. You also should remember to shut off all water-cooled devices like air conditioners. Once water service is restored, turn the main water valve on and run the sinks and tubs for 10 to 15 minutes to flush out the system.
