Woman Punched In Anti-Asian Attack In Midtown: NYPD
The attack happened on a downtown-bound 1 train.

MIDTOWN, NY — Police are searching for a perpetrator who attacked a 54-year-old woman in an anti-Asian hate crime in Midtown, New York City Police Department officers said.
According to the NYPD, the victim was riding a downtown 1 train approaching the 59th Street-Columbus Circle subway station on Jan. 16 around 8 p.m. when a woman approached her, made anti-Asian statements toward her, and then punched her in the head.
The perpetrator ran away, and the victim took herself to the hospital for treatment, police said.

No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
