2 Hurt As Driver Suffers Medical Event, Crashes Truck Into Building On Long Island: Police

The driver was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, while the employee of a business went to a local hospital, police say.

MILLER PLACE, NY — Two people were taken to the hospital after a truck crashed into a business located inside of a strip mall in Miller Place on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

Officer from the 6th Precinct Patrol were called to the location after a 911 reported a Ford truck crashed into the business, which is on Route 25A, at around 2:35 p.m., according to police.

The driver of the Ford suffered an apparent medical emergency when the vehicle hit the building and he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

An employee of the business was also taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.
