Advancing A Culture Of Kindness At Rocky Point High School
Ten students selected to attend the Suffolk County High School Principals Association's Compassion Without Borders leadership conference.

Ten Rocky Point High School students were selected to attend the Suffolk County High School Principals Association’s Compassion Without Borders leadership conference recently held at Smithtown High School East.
Under the leadership of adviser Jennifer Zaffino, students Thomas Amalfitano, John Henry Dyroff, Tyler Fertig, Joan Hicks, Anthony LaBella, Samantha Leversen, Isadores Luce, Jade Mitchko, Annalisse Negron and Angelina Sessa learned to develop their social and emotional leadership skills at the conference. They listened to powerful motivational speaker Ed Gerety and participated in workshops related to leadership skills and promoting programs in the Rocky Point school community.
They brought back ways to pay it forward, which was the theme for the annual event that helps student leaders across Suffolk County advance a culture of acceptance, compassion and tolerance in their school community. They worked to spread kindness by posting inspirational quotes on lockers to encourage peers to also pay it forward.
