Michelle Bond from Port Jefferson, leader of a cryptocurrency trade group, joins Anthony Figliola of Setauket in challenging Nick LaLota, the Suffolk County Republican Committee's designated candidate in the Aug. 23 primary. - A Patchogue man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing eight children at his wife's day care center received a prison sentence of 20 years on Thursday. Angel Tacuri, 53, was also sentenced to 20 years of post-prison supervision. (Patch)
- The Port Jefferson planning board approved expansions to Mather Hospital. The hospital will expand its northern parking lot and relocate and expand the emergency room. (TBR News Media)
